The Doctor title used by our chiropractors denotes that they are Doctor’s of Chiropractic (DC), and not medical practitioners. They have undergone a minimum of 5-6 years of accredited, university and post-graduate training in the care and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. All our chiropractors are qualified to international accepted standards, have completed a postgraduate registration training scheme and are members of the British Chiropractic Association.
Dr Toby Gunnee BSc (Hons) MSc DC MEAC FRSPH
Dr Toby Gunnee was born and has lived in Chesterfield most of his life and after graduating from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, he returned to the area where he built a reputation as an excellent clinician. Dr Gunnee has been working in South Yorkshire since 2002 with his practice covering a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders. However, his special interest is low back pain with or without sciatic pain, although he also has a keen interest in sports injuries after having treated professional football and rugby players. He holds a fellowship with the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health and is a member of the European Academy of Chiropractic.
As of August 2009, Dr Gunnee is now the owner of the Chesterfield, Hope and Buxton clinics, having taken over from Dr Carruthers, who still consults in the Chesterfield clinic. His ambition is not only to maintain the good reputation of the clinic locally, but continue to make it a centre of excellence nationally. The Chesterfield Clinic was awarded the coveted Patient Partnership Quality Mark by the College of Chiropractors in January 2009 for its standard of patient service.
